About the music

Every clip is real musicians playing — nothing here is synthesized. The expanded library uses public-domain and openly licensed performances from Musopen and Wikimedia Commons. Each work is credited from its source rather than guessed from a file name.

Archival 78 rpm transfers have been left out of play so shellac hiss and crackle never compete with the music. Nothing is streamed from a licensed service, so there is no login, no advertising, and once a clip has played it works offline.
